Dwarf Bauhinia  Bauhinia grandidieri

Sprawling tree under 10 feet in height, with a windswept habit.  It grows in arid forests in Madagascar.

Use it in a sunny, well-drained spot in alkaline soil, and it should always look nice.

Position a group in a raised bed, allowing them to develop into a color-strewn mass.

Alternatively, it may be trained along an espalier, for an interesting effect.
