Tropical beauty from Brazil; makes a nice medium-sized
(under 40 feet high) canopy tree, with a spread as wide as its height.
The one at right is about 25' tall.
Plant low stuff around it to show off the exfoliating bark,
which is an additional positive feature included in the purchase price..
Some people call this the "leopard tree".
At left is a gnarled specimen in Roosevelt Park in St. Thomas, U.S.Virgin Islands. Its canopy allows dappled sun to reach the ground, making it an ideal lawn tree, not overly messy, compared with many other large trees.
Attractive yellow compound flowers appear during the rainy
We have some beautiful ones in 100g pots - about 12' tall (check out the photo at right).
