Brazilian Ironwood  Caesalpinia ferrea

 

Tropical beauty from Brazil; makes a nice medium-sized (under 40 feet high) canopy tree, with a spread as wide as its height.

Plant low stuff around it to show off the exfoliating bark, which is an additional positive feature included in the purchase price.. 
 

Attractive yellow compound flowers appear during the rainy season.
