Senna polyphylla has been found to be a host plant for Pink Hibiscus Mealy Bug.

After having found the pest in our nursery, and having to treat it with chemicals we would prefer not to use, we no longer carry this plant.  We are keeping this information here because the photos are just so nice to look at.  We wish you luck in finding some and keeping them healthy.  Don't bother to call to ask where you might get them; we no longer promote this plant.

Desert Cassia  Senna polyphylla

Small tree to 12-15' high.

Plant in a sunny, well-drained location and you'll get good color almost all year.  Blooms most in the dry season.

These zebra butterflies were seen fluttering around under the protection of the senna in the photo at right during a rain shower.
